HG Cement mortar and efflorescence remover is a concentrated hydrochloric acid based cleaning and etching agent.

Usage/purpose

It is used to remove efflorescence(1) from Dryvit cementitious base coat systems, mineral finishes or substrate surfaces with cement-based product contamination. (1) Efflorescence is caused by soluble salts in building materials, or soluble salts transferred into building materials by water being drawn towards a drying surface by the movement of water. At the surface of the building material the water responsible for the transportation of the salts evaporates leaving behind the salts as a surface deposit. It is most likely to occur in damp, low temperature conditions.
