The Swaminarayan Temple secured the INCA Awards New Build Insulation/Render Finish accolade, sponsored by Aluclad systems, in a glittering ceremony at the MacDonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.
Home to religious figures practicing the Hindu faith, the Anoopam Mission’s Swaminarayan Temple offers a tranquil space in Uxbridge.
As part of the specification process, careful attention was paid to the design concept, which centered around the client wishing to match the features of an Indian Temple.
To achieve the effect, the architect and client specified Dryvit Outsulation System, combined with a limestone texture finish.
As well as meeting the design criteria, the system was also selected for its long-term durability and adaptability, coupled with energy efficiency. Dryvit offers best in class performance in terms of reducing the carbon footprint of buildings and offering energy efficiencies.
At The Swaminarayan Temple, the installation achieves the desired U-Value of 0.24W/m2K, whilst emulating the natural stone effect within a traditional place of worship.
The installation was carried out by LB&F.

“Our new, RIBA approved seminar now enables architects and specifiers to understand more about the systems and to understand how they can support their projects.”
The new CPD is the latest initiative from Dryvit, a brand of Tremco Construction Products Group (UK), developed to support specifiers.
Other resources include early-stage technical assistance, NBS specifications, the undertaking of U value and condensation risk calculations, bespoke project detailing support, onsite technical support and the provision of samples for planning approval.
